Beaches |
Locally you will
find wide sandy beaches with EEC blue flag awards,
rocky coves and beautiful marinas, offering safe swimming,
fishing, scuba diving and boating.
Here are a few of the nearest beaches:
Playa Cabo Roig is a beautiful beach. It is situated
in a large cove which makes the sea here very calm and good
for swimming. It has a good beach bar which stays open into
the small hours through the summer. Also, you will find a
marina and some water-sports.
La Zenia has two main beaches both of which are
small but very popular. There is a good cafeteria with
lovely panoramic sea views and large terraces both sides.
Both beaches have well stocked beach bars beach bars.
Playa Flamenca beach is
lovely in the summertime. It is a short distance from La Zenia beach on the Torrevieja side
Punta Prima beach is quiet and
compact and a perfect place to relax in Summer. It is near
to the Punta Prima Tower, further up from Playa Flamenca on
the Torrevieja side. |

Eating out
|
| Dining out
in Spain is much easier on the wallet than in the UK. Cabo
Roig and the surrounding Commercial centres have a wealth of
restaurants, serving cuisine from around the world. You will
find Chinese, Indian, French, Italian, American restaurants
and the odd English Chippy, to name but a few.Local
restaurants are a wonderful source of "tapas" (small Spanish
snacks) and serve chilled local wines and beers, a must for
the discerning visitor or people watcher. |

Waterpark |
| Aqualandia
in Torrevieja makes a wonderful day out for all the family
and is very reasonably priced. You can get very wet in the
slides, flumes and waterfalls. With bars. cafes, restaurants
and picnic areas located around the grounds. The park is
usually open from May - October |

Boat trips |
|
There are
many boat trips all around Torrevieja. Take a trip to the
nearby Island of Tabarca or sail along the coast and admire
the beautiful scenery. You can also enjoy an evening dinner
cruise with on board entertainment during the summer months. |

Health baths |
|
Take a medicinal bath in the lagoon.
The water is supposed be a cure for heart troubles,
rheumatism and respiratory ailments - be warned though, the
aroma of the mud is quite pungent! |

Golf
|
| If golf is
your game, then you will discover Cabo Roig to be a Golfer's
Paradise. No less than 3 world class courses are right at
the end of your Sand Wedge. All 3 courses are 72 par, 18
holes. If that’s not enough than less than an hours drive
away is the world famous La Manga. |

Funfair |
|
The funfair by the
Torrevieja marina is open in the summer months and is great
fun for all ages, they have a good selection of rides,
including a full flight simulator, where you can take off
and land a Boeing 737! |

Cinema |
| There is a cinema
located in the heart of Torrevieja. The films are mainly in
Spanish, but they do occasionally cater for English speaker. |

Embarcadero Romano |
|
In Roman
times, this area was well known for its outstanding port,
the remains of which can still be seen iin La Mata, called
Embarcadero Romano, or Roman docks. |

Go-Karting |
| There are
two Go-Kart tracks in the area, one to the south of
Torrevieja, the other near Santa Pola. They offer safe, fast
fun for all the family with snack bars and restaurants on
site. |

La Mata salt lake |
|
The area is
surrounded by the famous natural salt lagoons of Torrevieja
and La Mata commonly known as 'Salterns of Torrevieja'.
These are now National Parks and over 250 different bird
species have been sighted there. |

Day markets |
|
There are 2 local markets; Playa Flamenca (open on
Saturdays) and Torrevieja market (open on Fridays). They are
2 of the largest street markets on the Costa Blanca, people
come from miles around to pick up a bargain or two. You can
buy fruit and vegetables fresh from the farm, as well us
jewellery, clothes, leather, ceramics, toys ect... |

Torrevieja
night market |

Every evening, during the summer, is a craft market with
pottery, leather goods, ceramics, carved art from Africa,
pavement artists and much, much more. It is situated on the
marble promenade overlooking the harbour. It is open until
late at night. |

The
Ozone Leisure Complex |
| The Ozone Leisure
Complex is popular for both adults and children alike.
It hosts an amusement arcade, bouncy castles trampolines,
bars and restaurants, including Burger King and McDonalds. |

Torrevieja Park of Nations |
|
| This park is also
known as 'Dragon Park' and it is a very popular family
attraction. It has a large playground with a life size
dragon slide, a train ride and a beautiful lake with swan
pedalloes. |

La
Siesta Church |
| La Siesta Church is
situated on the outskirts of Torrevieja. It is
an Evangelical church with an English speaking congregation
for all ages. |

Theme
Park |
| Terra Mitica is a
fantastic theme park north of Alicante. It is a journey to
re-discover the ancient civilizations. The park is set among
the foothills just outside Benidorm. There are super fast
and super slow rides to suit all ages and bravery! Each area is composed
of cunningly miniaturized buildings, built of stone and
masonry plus waterways, rivers, islands, rides, theatres,
souvenir shops, snack-bars, restaurants and an astonishing "feelie"
cinema. If we told you more, we could spoil it, but there is a
surprise around every corner at this amazing state of the
art theme park. It is a fun day out for all the family. |

Caves |
| The Caves of
Aracena are the biggest and the most wonderful in the world,
they are located in the bowels of the hill, on which, the
castle church is built and where the ruins of the old
fortress can be found. The beauty of its lakes, the
spaciousness of its chambers and the marvellous colours of
its wide variety of stalactites and stalagmites, form in its
entirety something almost impossible to surpass. |

Snorkelling and Scuba diving |
| The clean waters in
this area of the Mediterranean are particularly suited for
snorkelling and diving. You will find a number instructors
in the area, who can teach you to dive, if you are fully
qualified, you will be able to just hire the equipment from
them. |

Bars and
pubs |
| For those of us who
enjoy the odd tipple there is a wide selection of bars to
choose from in the local area, whether you fancy a cool beer
or one of the more exotic cocktails on offer you won't have
too far to go. Most stay open until the early hours of the
morning and offer superb entertainment on a nightly basis.
Alternatively, you could sample some of the local wines in
one of the traditional style "Bodegas" and soak up some real
Spanish culture along with it. |

Night
Clubs |
There are a number
of night clubs in the local areas, but the biggest and
probably the best is ' Pacha', which is located on an
Industrial estate immediately to the rear of Torrevieja
town. You cannot miss this super club at night, as when it
is open there are massive searchlights in the sky to bring
all party-goers to the booming venue. It was were moved here
to avoid noise and congestion. The club only get going
after 1'O'clock in the morning, so it is really for
the party animals! They hold regular foam parties. Pacha is
a sister club to the famous Ibiza
party club.
